HealthLinkBC--consolidated non-emergency BC health care information
To quote "About HealthlinkBC" from the website, "HealthLink BC is the gateway to access non-emergency health information and services in British Columbia. It brings together the services that British Columbians count on for health information – BC HealthGuide, BC HealthFiles, BC NurseLine and Pharmacist service, and Dial-a-Dietitian – and expanded these with an online and by-phone navigation service to help B.C. residents find the health resources and facilities they require, closest to where they live. It’s a phone number and it’s a website; it’s a collection of print and telephone resources that put services and health know-how into the hands and homes of BC residents."
Most visitors from this website are looking for nearby addiction counseling and treatment options and can determine what is available by entering the keyword "Addiction" and specifying the area they live in.

The Crossing
For: youth aged 14 to 18. Coed with separate dormitories.
Applicants enter this therapeutic community after withdrawing from drugs and alcohol, then stay in the residential program for six months to a year, depending on their needs. Managing the program is Portage, a Canadian agency which currently operates centres in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Admission to the program is voluntary. Please call the Health Authorities to set up an appointment. An interview is conducted with an agent from one of the Health Authorities prior to admission, during which the client's needs and readiness are evaluated. You can also call Portage Keremeos with any general questions or to make an appointment for a visit, so that the potential resident can get a better idea about the environment and the services that are offered.
