Group Description

  • PARENTS FOREVER is a professionally supported* mutual support group for parents and family members of addicted children. Current membership stands at 180 and is made up mostly of parents, with some siblings and spouses attending from time to time.
  • Modelled after a program for parents experiencing difficulties with their teens, PARENTS FOREVER is managed by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver.
  • PARENTS FOREVER provides a safe and confidential place for parents and family members to come together on a regular basis to share their experiences, their wisdom and their courage. Parents and family members learn new ways of coping including how to remain EVER HOPEFUL, WITH NO EXPECATIONS.
  • "Veteran" parents continue to attend group meetings to offer support and encouragement as well as sharing their stories of success, whether it is a child making a decision to change, or a parent regaining their strength and feelings of self-worth.
  • More at "What Is Parents Forever?" and "How to Start a Parents Forever Group in Your Community."

The location is the Parish Hall St. Mary's Anglican Church. Meetings are biweekly.
